Dealer discounts?

I am in the process of working with a local dealer to get my first Mini. I prefer one off the lot or in the delivery pipeline. What are others experiences in negotiating off the MSRP?

Dealer Discount

I read all the threads I could and made my deal last Saturday. $750 off sticker and the dealer included floor mats, window tint (for side windows and sunroof) and transport charge from another dealer that he got the car from. I'm a happy camper! Lookign forward to happy motoring!!!

Congratulations and good luck!! Looking forward to seeing pictures!! I did not get a discount on my 06 MCS, ordered it in Germany.
The 08 MC.. got it at Hendricks Mini of Charleston.. great experience, and we got a 10% off the entire car military discount!!!

Amazing – I pulled the trigger last Saturday on an ordered MINI, and I also got $750 off MSRP and free floor mats! Free tint would have been nice, but they're throwing in wheel locks instead. From what I've read on NAM, most dealers aren't that gracious with discounts, particularly on orders. I was pushing for a grand, but I really can't complain with the price we finally settled on. I too am a happy camper.

Has your status on the OL changed yet? I've read that some recent orders are already in production, but my MC SS/W is still on order. Let the agonizing wait begin...

Military Discount?

I didn't think to ask. As a retired USMC vet I could have gotten something. Maybe...

I hope I don't make you feel bad.

I didnt want to wait for the delivery. I worked with the dealer and he found the exact car (well close enough) at another dealer. He shipped it over at no obligation. We test drove it in the am and drove off the lot as a happy owner in the afternoon.

Not at all! I should've read your post a little more closely and picked up on that. Driving off the lot makes your situation even sweeter. Congrats!

Unfortunately, none of the dealers in my area had a build I was satisfied with, so I knew I wouldn't be driving off the lot and a 6-8 week wait was in my future. I just didn't anticipate how long 6-8 weeks is when a MINI is sitting at the very end of that wait.

But I hear, in the end, its all worth it...
