I new to the MINI world. However I want to express my experience with my buying adventure: My Brand new 2008 will arive at 6:00AM in the morning at my office here in Savannah, GA shipped from Michigan. I'm really excited! Why MI? Because of the selling dealers in my area didn't care if they sold a car or not. I tried to deal with Tom Bush Mini in Jax FL. Mini of Charleston, SC and a dealer in Atlanta. These three along with most, not all of the others across the US, came across as arrogant, and impudent. I was told, "We are Mini, we don't nor does any Mini dealer give discounts. We have the highest resale value of any car. We only have limited dealerships, and one manufacturing plant in the world." I supose they didn't realize their parent company BMW didn't make it big with that forethought.
I was fortunate to come across Bavarain Motors in MI, who sold me a New 2008 for $3,474.00 less than Charleston Mini offered on a 2009 model exactly equipped. Only difference is a stock item on the 09 not on 08 DTC. Don't need it down here in the South. The rep. from Charleston even stated" No one has a new 2008 model for sale." I guess she thought the VIN number given me by the dealer was a hoax. Her statement was "this doesn't make any sense." She didn't make any sense, and was extremelly belligerent! I was really taken aback by these people.
This attitude of "We are better than Thou" was astounding and unprofessional!
I attribute this to the corporate diction and training!The words of all of these dealers were too simular!
I have a new Mini Motto and will put it in print and Sticker form posted on my new mini: LOVE THE COOPER, HATE THE CORPORATE!
