Hi everyone,

Although I have not yet purchased my Mini, I've been shopping for the last month or so trying to decide exactly what I want. I came very close to purchasing a 06 MCS this weekend but before committing, I decide to drive the new 08/09 just to make sure I wasn't making the wrong decision.

Here are my thoughts and choices now... and maybe some of you can help me out in making my decision:

1) 05-06 MCS -> I love the shorter gearing, the feel, rawness, and style. I personally think it'd be perfect for a weekend/fun car. It was Chili Red though (which I do love but it might be too attention getting). Mileage, options, it was a great deal. For my day to day driving, it might tiring for traffic and commuting to work. I do have a Camry to drive to work though. I know boring...

2) Mini Clubman (non S) - I love the new styling, the smooth power delivery and the fact it has a 6 speed manual transmission now. No torque steer! It is a new car so I know everywhere it's been, how it would be driven, etc. I think this would replace the camry all together and would get driven more so than the 06 MCS.

3) (out of running) gen 2 MCS - I hate the torque steer and I do not like the power delivery of turbo cars in general. Coming from Hondas, I love revving up cars and feeling power a little more progressively through the RPMs.

Can anyone help me please decide?! 05-06 MCS or new Clubman?

We bought Clubman's for the extra room. We wanted automatic for both and did not feel the non s had the power we wanted. That may be different with the manual. Very happy with the Clubman's. Good luck and Welcome from North Carolina.

I have made a decision. I will be going with a PW/blk 06 MCS. The car has low miles, perfect body, and is well optioned. I can't wait until I take delivery this weekend!
