Snow sticking inside fenderwells '08 Mini S?!
Snow sticking inside fenderwells '08 Mini S?!
Just getting the new Mini S into the snow up here in SE Alaska and noticing that the fenderwells have been lined with something that looks like wool! Obviously to deaden noise, but the snow sticks to it so well that it packs the whole fenderwell full of snow! Anyone hade to deal with this new lining in the fenderwells and having to deal with snow? Or am I the first?

I have only had my S for a week and it is 75 deg. and not a cloud in the sky in the Albuquerque, NM area.
I was wondering how the MINIs faired in the snow as I want to take her up to the local ski area in a couple months.

Really depends on the type of snow and how much. Up here we use studded tires being too wet to just have all season tires. The biggest problem I've had is the lining inside the tirewell...WTF? It does nothing but grab snow clogging up the fenderwells. Other than that, as long as the snow's not too deep, shouldn't be a prob.
I've wondered how the lining material used on the new Mini would react to crud on the road. Not much snow here in northern Virginia so probably won't be a problem for me but I've spent 6 winters in Anchorage so I can feel your pain...
