Hello,
I have a 2003 mini cooper and recently while in the middle of replacing my oil,
when I removed the canaster from the housing I could not remove the filter element from the cover/canaster. I am using a oem oil filter element and am trying very hard to pull it from the cover. When I push on the element I feel
the spring which is attached inside. I also noticed a metal sleeve running up the center of the old filter. Any suggestions?? should I try to rip or cut out the oil element?
