I seem to have trouble getting connecting to this link. Is there something other then entering the name of the Medea I have to do? Thanks!

Just click on the link, I do not show it updating its position, the previous link I posted is showing a delayed position.

Rasputinj, thank you for the links. At this point I think I will lay off these tracking devices for at least a week. In the meantime I will check-in with my MA to see if I can test drive a demo soon.

I need to detox a for a week on the tracking. I need to make plane reservations for my family to fly to LV on 10/22 when our MA has estimated the car should be ready. Already have hotel booked.

I just checked the Wallenius ship tracking site, and the date of arrival in Manzanillo reads 10/3 again (instead of 10/4), so I guess MEDEA is making good time.

I am a bit bummed that I have to track the Traviota which I believe left 5 days before the Medea to get an idea where the Medea is.

Could be worse...you could be one of those folks in the Week 40 group who doesn't even have a production number yet...maybe the Medea got lost in the Bermuda Triangle???

I think that by tomorrow she may be halfway to the Panama
Canal. I have high hopes anyways.
I checked out PenFed Credit Union and their rates went up to 4.75%. 10 days ago when I talked to the finance lady at Mini I was told that Mini's best rate is 4.49%. I hope that it's still the same.

Here is a PDF for the what is scheduled to go through the Canal, I believe it shows Medea on the 4th of October. Since the Medea is supposed to hit Manzanillo on the 3rd, they are still hopefully ahead of schedule.

Wow, already booked the flight. I guess you can change the date if necessary.

I think I can change the flight with a penalty, I am concerned also about changing the Hotel which is already booked, and I do not want pay any more to stay over the weekend.

Taking the OCD to a new level

Hub and I were discussing how to track our baby on the MEDEA over the weekend. We tried all of the usual websites for ship tracking and came up empty. So, this morning, we thought about it again, in our OCD way, and hub suggested we call the shipping company. I dug up the phone number to Wallenius Willhelmsen in Port Hueneme, CA, and hub made the call.

He spoke to a very polite gentleman, and asked if it was possible to track a certain ship, or if he could supply the coordinates. The man asked, "And may I ask your name, sir?" Hub said his name, and then told the story about our Mini onboard. The man laughed and said he had heard about the Mini tracking system, but that after 9/11, they did not give out ship's positions to the public. Finally, he said that he did guarantee that the ship was still afloat.

Okay, curiosity satisfied somewhat for today.

Looking forward to October 3, when I'll have the Panama Canal cam on my monitor all day at work.

Thanks OceanMini! At least we know all is well, eventhough we can't 'see' the ship!

Wow, I have met my match. I decided to lock-in at 4.75, they said the check should arrive in a few days. Let's see what the rates do tomorrow (10/1).

On a side note, I decided to go by the dealership and bug my MA. He let me test drive one of the vehicles that were available; I thought this would help me out during the few week wait. So I drove a Clubman S automatic. It was a lot more fun playing with the paddle shifters than I thought could imagine. I asked the MA if MINI had fixed the hood scoop issue in the 2009s. He said that he had not seen any cars come in with this issue. I proceeded to show him the melted scoop on the Clubman just drove. After going into another room with other MAs he said that MINI would replace any hood scoop issues. I am not trying to bring anyone down, just thought I would let you know about my experience today.
