Hello all! I have been lurking for about a month just to see what the community was like but I am an admin over a www.celicatech.com
I presently have a 1993 Toyota Celica ST that is my daily driver but have just put in my order for a 2009 Cooper S. I will be using the car for may daily commute, about 50 miles one way, and decided on the MINI as the best alternative to my 33-35 MPG Toyota, not to mention I will be getting it at the military price. I did alot of searching and per dollar I cannot find anything as nice/cool as the MINI.

My future car (around the end of September) is a S with sports package, limited slip, upgraded audio, convienince package, 17" crown spokes, rear fog, Auto Air, with carbon black cloth. I went with the dark grey and white roof.
Looking forward to future contact with you all!
David

Sounds like a winner to me. I think Germany is an awesome place to break-in a new MINI - I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with it.

Do you plan on taking it out on the 'ring?

No plans for the ring. I would hate for something to happen and have no insurance (insurance is void when you hit the track)

I have read that the break in is 1500 miles, is this correct? Man that is going to take me a month... I am a very cautious driver normally but I think it will be nice to occasionally stretch the turbo out at times .

Thanks all for the warm welcome!
