The week number is related to when your car enters production which is correct that if they are lining up the parts (which really seems to be the most lengthy part as there are so many parts and these are often specific to each car depending on each person's choices) now it is a week 40. After the parts are lined up there are only a couple days for the remaining production: paint and actual build (which does not seem to take long).

Mine officially is a week 39 based on starting production, however, should not be completed until tomorrow or the day after. All is well, you're still in the Week 40 club.

Hey, eprasad7, looks like our MINI's are seeing each other naked in the body shop today. I just called and the rep told me I was in the body shop today. That must mean paint tomorrow, assembly Thursday and out the door on Friday!

I am also a Week 40...found out last week. I never saw my info in the OL so I called Ask Mini and was ecstatic to find out that my estimated completion date was Oct 2nd. I was especially surprised given that my order date was officially September 10th!

My car is in my SIG...I can't wait! Unfortunately, I'm in S. Cal so I'll be trailing a bunch of you in the mid west and east coast on receipt.

Hoping to get her by Thanksgiving!!! In the meantime, I'll have to live vicariously through other Mini sightings.

Looks like we'll be on the same boat jimatvs. Mine is in the paint shop today but our next boat doesn't appear to be leaving until Oct 13th, so we've got a little time.

I think mine was in the body/paint shop as of yesterday. Maybe they'll use the same can of black paint on our roofs.

I think the shipping time per some other thread to our neck of the woods was 21 days. That would put it in port here around Nov. 3rd.

Not sure how long from port to destination...maybe another week or two???

Hmmm, Herbie sounds an awful lot like a certain German car.
But it made the name Humphrey pop into my head so maybe your subliminal message was meant to help me along! Thanks, bhelton!

I just found out that my Mini was conceived this morning in Oxford at 7:36AM. Don't know VIN yet or when it will be done, but I am super excited. Does this mean I should move back over from the Week 41 support group or should I stay over there?

That's what I thought when it popped into my head, but there was no denying what I heard. Humphrey is a great name though. Glad I could help name him.

You are always welcome here! Most of your production will happen this week now, so it only makes sense!

Folic, we're glad to have the company so why not keep your feet in both camps. Chances are a lot of us will be on the same boats... or is that "in the same boat?"

I was just checking on boats. If they finish production on 10/5 and it takes three days to get it to Southampton, my baby could be on the K-Line Caribbean Highway on 10/8. But I'm still a little vague about how one makes certain which boat is used. I know my MINI will come through Charleston but other than that, its still a bit of a mystery to me.

On second glance, it seems more likely that my baby will be aboard the Tombarra or the Integrity which would be nice since WW ships seems way easier to track.

So, how does this work from here forward after they finish and "give birth" to my mini. It hops on a train to the port? How long is it on the boat?

My buddy at work told me that it was small enough I could probably Fed Ex P1 it.

Folic Acid 9, check out the thread on tracking your mini here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/1st-gear/144057-how-to-track-your-mini-revised-expanded-and-updated.html

It's a great resource for finding out exactly where your MINI is and has links to the various shipping sites so you can see when it boards a ship and when it will land.

Once we get through this week, we'll have to put together a list of who's on what ships so we can see who's traveling together.

According to the thread bhelton mentioned, its 36 hours from Oxford to Southampton. Hopefully that means most of us Week 40ers will be on Tombarra or Integrity.

The Owner's Lounge has finally caught up to what the ASK MINI rep is telling me, including the VIN. As of this morning, I'm in the body shop!

Mine's all up-to-date too with my VIN and showing I'm in production. ASK MINI said yesterday that my baby got it's shiny yellow coat, so today it should be getting all it's inards.

Folic Acid 9, your's will probably update tomorrow or so, since you are a couple days behind LordRybo and I.

We'll all end up on the same boats anyway.
