Very Soon to be lessor

My mini arrived in the states today. It's an 08 MCS coupe. I am still deciding on whether or not to buy or lease, but I am leaning towards the lease. I have financing set up to purchase, but the cold start chatter scared me away from long time ownership of this quirky little rocketship.

Can anybody confirm the fees associated with a lease through BMW? Here is what I have. Dealer is in Illinois, but registering in Missouri.

825 app fee
150 doc fee (illinois only?)
40 temp plates

I will be registering the vehicle myself once I return to Missouri.

Thanks

I went the lease route for my '07 MC. Three years with no-charge servicing for the life of the lease. And the only thing I'm responsible for are the tires, in the regular maintenance of the car.

My dealer replaced the windshield wipers for free after they got chewed by ice and snow during a blizzard (and they weren't nicked and notched that badly). The dealer also, at no charge, fixed one of my tires which had a slow leak from a nail.

My wife's leasing an '07 BMW 328xi for the same service reasons.

So in two years we have to decide whether to keep or trade in for new models. But we're not thinking that far ahead yet. Got plenty of time.

Thank you for the response. I have nothing against "test driving" a car for 3 years before having to buy it. A lot can change in 36 months.

Can anybody confirm the fees listed in the initial post?

Thanks

Done deal.

Even though my financing person wouldn't admit that the app fee was negotiable to $625 (vs the original $825), she took $200 off the car price. Same difference to me. She also tried to hike my money factor up at the last minute. What a load of crap. BUT, everything worked out perfectly after she saw that "BMW was able to get a better rate for me". Again, whatever.

Car is in my driveway, I am very happy with my acquisition.
