24 hours after ordering...

I've already read the owner's manual for my new MCS, I've checked the tracking every ten minutes (Still "On Order"), and I've already planned our first adventure after he's out of his break in period. I've got a number of mods on my wish list as well as some extra toys I plan on installing. All in 24 hours.

What am I supposed to do with the rest of the time I'm waiting?

If only work were more interesting to keep my mind off things.

You've got it bad. Good for you. I haven't made it all the way through the manual yet. I am planning the scenic route home from the dealer when I pick up my car though.

Wbarnhill...

First off congrats.

As for the time between now and delivery? Hmmmm - join a support group out here. Find out your production week and either join or start a thread for that week's support group. It will help. I'm apart of week 21's support group and we're helping each other by distracting us from the main purpose of life right now (our MINIs), tracking the cars across the big pond and forming some pretty cool friendships.

Good luck. BTW, what is your expected delivery date/time frame?

Joe

Just called ASK MINI and spoke to someone. Told me the MINI went into production this morning, and that this was the 24th week, and estimated completion is June 18th, which is week 25. So which support group should I be in?

Join both. It's not exactly a hard science. The mods won't kick you out.

After consulting with my husband who has an '05 MCS here is what we came up with:

1) Locate and join your local MINI Club.
2) Read every article on Motoringfile (www.motoringfile.com)
3) Listen to every episode of White Roof Radio (www.whiteroofradio.com)
4) Make reservations for MOTD7
5) Check out and read every book about the history of the Mini
6) Watch every episode of Top Gear related to the Mini (especially the one with the ski jump)
7) Make reservations for MINI United (next year IS the 50th Anniversary after all!)
8) Plan a route to whichever MTTS will happen after your MINI arrives
9) Read every MINI related PVP webcomic (www.pvponline.com)
10) See if there is a NAMCC race near you and attend
11) Join every MINI board in the world
12) Clean your garage
13) Stock up on detailing supplies
14) Make reservations for AMVIV
15) Make reservations for all other national events (too many to list here)
16) Try to convince your friends that this is normal and you should not be locked up
17) Plan to visit Charleston the day your MINI arrives to watch your ship come in (there is a nice restaurant near where they unload... not that we would know)
18) Watch both versions of The Italian Job until you have every line memorized

Other thoughts?

Now, you must think of names for the new addition. Additionally, you must reply to all threads on this forum. AND get creative about personalized license plates. THere are at least three threads for names, and three for plates. Happy Motoring!!

Don't forget to make a custom songlist/CD (or IPod playlist) for listening to in your MINI!
