The wait continues...

My wife and I ordered a Chili Red Cooper Clubman from Mini of Sterling (Va) on April 16th. The dealership has been less than forthcoming about the status of my order (they did get me a Production Order Number but don't return phone calls) but the folks at 1-866-Ask-Mini have been very helpful (and indicate that our baby will likely be born in June/July!). Hoping for an August "delivery" to the dealer.

Thanks to everyone here in the forum for the excellent knowledge base and helpful info!

FYI, we're moving to South Carolina by the end of the year (and will be checking out the dealers there on arrival).

Welcome to NAM, Gary! Are you registered on MINISUSA's Owner's Lounge? That is also a helpful place as you await delivery. Congrats on the impending move to SC -- beautiful state.

Thanks - yes we're registered. It took a long time for the Production Order Number to be recognized online, but the 866-Ask-Mini folks found me early on and have kept me informed all along the way.

Will be retiring from Federal Service in October/November. Looking forward to this new chapter of life (and driving a Mini through it of course!).

which MA did you get? I ordered with Jeff on May 10th. Currently my MINI is on board the Patriot heading to NY.

I get most of my info from the WW site and ask mini. However, Jeff from MOS returns my emails if I have questions..

MOS is crazy busy though. Not that is an excuse.

 

I don't understand all of these long waits for a Mini. I've ordered an 03 and an 06. I've never waited more than 8wks.

Anyway, welcome to NAM and may Your Mini bring you all the joy you desire. Getting your Mini is almost like the day your child was born. (If you have any)
Your smile will hurt for a little while, but you'll get use to it.

(Having said that, 8wks is a long time in comparison to buying one off the lot, but to h3ll with that!)

 

I'd rather not say who my MA was but it wasn't Jeff.

We did check out Mini of Richmond too as both dealerships are the same distance away. On a Saturday morning visit we walked around the dealership and through the showroom (even sat in the Clubman on display). It was the first time in my life at an auto dealership that we couldn't find a salesman.

One of the techs said that they were all in a big sales meeting. I would have thought that they'd leave somebody behind in the showroom for potential customers.

Oh well...we picked MOS.
