Any Canadians out there? Need some tracking help!!

I'm in Toronto and ordered my Mini last week. Is there any way for Canadians to track their cars? I don't think we have an owner's lounge screen on the Canadian site. And my Mini rep advised that he's the only one that can track it. So... I have no tracking #, order #, VIN, etc.

In either case... I just spoke with him and he told me that the car is currently in production. Does that mean I'm a week 22 guy? Does the production week go by when production begins, or when it's scheduled to end?

For all the more experienced trackers out there - can you share your experiences of how long production takes, etc? I'm anxious to get info, but feel like the uncool kid that wasn't invited to the party!

I think I'll move to the States next time I order a car...

You're right. The dealer is the only way that we Canadians can track where our cars are within the factory. My rep at Mini Durham has been great so far, emailing me status updates every couple of days. He was able to tell me what production week I was in.

As for production time, if you mean actual build time, I believe that it is 3 - 5 days. If you mean from date of order, it varies. Personally, I think I've been pretty lucky. Ordered the Clubman on May 10th, had the production # on the 13th, the VIN on the 15th, it reached the docks in Southhampton on the 20th and as we speak its steaming its way to Halifiax. Check the sticky at the top of this forum for how to track the car when it reaches the exit port.

That's very helpful! All he told me was that it was in production and estimated early July delivery date. I guess I should call him to get some more info then, such as the VIN, etc.

But if you can't get updates on production, then what does the production # tell you?

If it's already in production, you should be able to get the VIN and the production week number from the Mini rep. After that, you can sit back and "patiently" count down the days until it's arrival.
