Hi!

My GF recently got herself an MCCa with premium and cold weather packages. I've been lurking here for a couple of months, ever since she first started considering a MINI.

I've gotta say: Everyone here's awesome!

When she was looking at them, I took an MCS for a spin and now I'm thinking I may need to get myself one. Anybody else part of a goofy couple with matching cars? I'm thinking about: MCS, BRG/B, sport suspension, DSC, LSD, Xenon, rear fogs, anthracite headliner, HiFi sound, driving lamps and black bonnet stripes. Any thoughts? Also, I'm in Austin so the closest dealer is San Antonio, then Houston or Dallas. Any recommendations for or against any of the dealers in the areas?

Lot o' folks are two MINI families. I even know one couple who have three (and no kids at home to drive the third). Both of the Dallas dealers are good folks. I've heard and read lots of good things about the north Houston dealer, Mini of The Woodlands, on I-45. Haven't heard much about the San Antonio dealer. A while back someone did mention that they were charging above sticker because they were the only game in town. You'd have to check on that tho as that was like over a year ago.

I suggest that you get onto the Texas group - www.metroplexmini.org. The Houston group uses our board and there's a Heart of Texas group that also uses our board. The HOT group doesn't have a lot of posts, but you might find some help if you ask.

You might actually understand this world of Minis if you ask instead, "how many families only have ONE Mini." You'd probably get a better snapshot, and you won't get overwhelmed with the amount of responses! Minis are slightly addicting...

Your first mistake was getting behind the wheel of Mini. Now the thought of having one of your very own will haunt you until you do.

I say go for it!

Yup. Eventually We will be getting another mini for me. My fiance just ordered hers, and later this year after getting rid of a few bills, I will be ordering mine! That way we won't be arguing over who drives!

Why wait?????

MINI is one of the few cars with a personality. I'm moving over from Lexus, and will be having FUN with my car for the first time in a long time.

Reliability (Lexus) does not ALWAYS = FUN (though it is nice.....)

BRG MCS is the ONLY way to go. Mine is growing on my boyfriend, but he still thinks it's a chick car.

you have to go for the MCS. We're a two MINI family... to be a fly on our wall sometimes when we're arguing who's goning to drive and then what car we're going to take.

dhoosee, what lexus are you coming from? I've got an IS 300 now, and everything is very reliable, and very good, it really isn't nearly as much fun as the MCS.
[to self]And the back seat is small, and they don't fold down so am I really losing that much space....[/to self]
