Hi everyone, just joined NAM yesterday and I already love this site. What a great resource. I live in the Chicago area and bought my 07 MCS last June. I had it one week and made a trip out to the Dragon in TN/NC. I had some meetings in Charlotte and that was all of the excuse I needed for a road trip. If some of you have never been out there I would highly recommend it. Anyways, I will hopefully meet some of you this summer in Chicago at the MTTS event. Take care and happy motoring
Thanks, it's my first Mini and I absolutely love it. I never even thought of owning one until one of my customers told me he sold his AC Cobra and got a Mini. His Cobra had a 600 hp motor in it and it looked bad to the bone. I couldn't believe that he got rid of the cobra for a Mini and had to know why (realize that I'm a big fan of the old musclecars). He said that he had the cobra at a road course (not sure which one) for a track day and he and his wife were shocked that the Mini Coopers were passing him. After that he bought one and had it for about 2 years before he traded it in on a Lotus (he's got money). After hearing his story I had to try one out and the rest is history. I really didn't fit the average person's view of what a Mini owner is supposed to look like so I've gotten alot of surprised looks and comments when people see me driving it. I'm kinda built like a linebacker and I've got a goatee and I even drive a Harley (go figure). But I don't care who you are if you are a driving enthusiast then the Mini is for you. Take it easy and thanks for the compliment on my Mini
Nice MINI, your description of yourself fits the MINI profile quite nicely.
Post some more pictures when you have time, did you take pictures down at the Dragon?
Unfortunately I did not have my camera with me and missed out on capturing the moments. I definitely need to go back, but this time I want to go with others. I had my Mini for only a couple of days when I made the trip and I was still kind of giddy about my awesome car. I guess I wasn't thinking too clearly, but man o man I sure did enjoy myself
Thanks for the welcome and I'm definitely going to be at the MTTS in Chicago. The family and I went on the CMMC Spring Drive and we had a great time. I've got to download the application and send in my membership amount. What a great club and we were really impressed with how friendly and helpful everyone was. I have already recommended the CMMC to a friend of mine who just bought an 08' MCS.
