Hi everyone. New members were asked to introduce themselves, so here I am.

I just signed the paperwork to order a 2008 MCS, with premium, sport and cold weather packages, plus most of the stuff in the convenience package, 17" Crown-spoke whees, performance tires, limited slip.

I'm probably not the "usual" Mini owner. First, I've been retired now for almost 12 years and am old enough to be grandfather to many Mini owners. I've been a sports car guy most of my life, with a whole list of former vehicles including MGBs, Corvettes, early Lotuses (or is that Loti?) and most recently, Porsches. I raced Formula Ford and Formula B cars for 5 seasons -- I was a decent driver but when going into a corner as one of 3 cars abreast I worried about my 2 young kids, my wife, my mortgage and my career and backed off, letting the 19 year old drivers have the corner -- definitely NOT the way to win races. So-- I turned to flying, and still hold a Commercial Pilot's license.

That's probably more than anyone wants to know. I look forward to joining the group, anxiously awaiting my new Mini.

Welcome , you will enjoy this car . I too have had 4 lotus , 2 porsches , and also have a 74 mgb now . This is one of the best cars i have owned .

Congrats! Unfortunately, the worst part about being a Mini owner is waiting for it to arrive!!! And don't be silly -- Minis make us ageless.
