Hello, It has been a real pleasure to lurk here for the past month. Sorry to not have posted sooner! I ordered my clubman S Feb. 9th Dark Silver w/Black cap and mirrors. Convenience, comfort and premium packages. I had to chose automatic transmission as I never learned to drive a stick, this is often a source of shame and embarrassment that I have learned to shoulder. Various other add-on's fog lights, white lights, xenon light.
I wanted to order the Mini before the release of the clubman's hoping the wait would be shorter. It is looking like I may receive my car a week before promised. The dealer seems to think it may arrive this weekend. I am not holding my breath but that would be very exciting. Ask-Mini (automated) is never quite sure where my mini is from the 16th to the 20th of Feb no one knew where it was then it was booked on the ship and off-loaded in NY but Ask-Mini (automated system) thinks it is still waiting for the boat. :-)
Anyway, sorry to ramble I just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for all their help. I don't think I have ever done so much research in buying a vehicle. Thanks again, James

 

Hey James, welcome. I've heard plenty of stories of MINIs getting lost between the port and the dealer. Then, your dealer will just call and tell you it's ready. Sorry to hear you don't want to learn to drive stick. I'll be teaching my wife when ours comes in... she won't have much of a choice

You ordered your mini on the same day and same color as me! =D As far as I know, my mini is still at the distribution center in NY. Unfortunately i just found out about the ASK-MINI number today, along with a few other tracking websites. Until now i had only been using the owners lounge, which takes a long time to get updated. =(

Anyway, good luck! Hopefully we'll both get our cars soon!

 

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I try not to use the computer on the weekends to doing work. I fail more often than I succeed. I wanted to thank everyone for responding I am glad to be here.
If my wife had her way she would be forcing me to learn stick. Everyone tells me in the Mini it just adds to the experience. Maybe next time.
Hrcharron, did you hear about your Mini yet? I received a call a little while ago that it is in at the dealers. They said they need to wait two days for the Certificate of Origination then I can take it home. Unfortunately, I still can't pick it up till Saturday. Hopefully you have heard, because you are about as close to port of NY/NJ as I am.
Well thank you every one for the welcome and I look forward to being around here. Now I just have to make it through the last 5 days.

No, unfortunately i haven't heard anything yet. My MA at Mini of Sterling isn't returning my phone calls. =( I tried the ASK MINI number today but they couldn't tell me anything beyond it leaving the exit port in England. Although, i know it's at least in NY at the dist center, thanks to OL. I'm gettin very anxious though! Hopefully i'll be able to pick mine up on Saturday as well... we'll see though.
