New MINI, old driver

Hello to everyone,
I just " inherited" a Mini CooperS 2007 from my daughter. She just found out that she's pregnant, so a Mini isn't going to do it as a family car. So, Dad keeps the car and the payment book. Didn't really know what I was getting into. Took her for a spin on Saturday and fell in love with the darn thing. I had never had so much fun driving any car in all my life. I even ended washing it on Sunday (hadn't done that in thirty years). So here I am 50 something and driving around in what I thought was a teenage fad. By the way, I'm from sunny Puerto Rico. I'll post a picture soon.

A teenage fad? I think the only true thing about MINI owners is they are ALL different ages! The most enthusiastic MINI drivers I know are 2 men in their LATE 70's who not only do auto X, but have also been ticketed in Nevada going 120 MPH because. . . they were late for a race they were entered in! You're not alone. . . welcome to the club!

Welcome aboard Dad...

This Mini driver is Right Behind you, so you've got company. Remember that old is a state of mind, and as long as your right foot is still working, you've still got what it takes to have enormous amounts of fun.

That is funny because I think lots of people still think of them as a fad for some reason. Few suspect it's also a really, really great little car that actually does what a car should do!! Welcome aboard, and congrats on the soon-to-arrive grandchild!!!

thanks for the congrats. I think they are not fully appreciated until you get behind the wheel. Otherwise they are just cute.

Someone had started an Old Fart Motoring club, of which I would be proud to be a member.

Welcome

Actually, the carseat fits nicely in the back, so you might want to give the Mini back.

Shhh.... Don't tell her that. Then he'd have to give it back.

I got my Mini to be my 'family' car. It's an upgrade from no back seat.
