My Cooper
My Cooper
Hi everyone,
my first post. I've had my 06 Cooper s for 10 months now, it has been my dream car since they came out a few years ago. Next to my 2 yr old son, my wife, and my 3 bone-head dogs, the cooper is my fav-o-rite thing! To me it is like the car in the RUSH song Red Barchetta... Cooper is always ready to have an adventure or two with me. I enjoy tinkering with him and can't wait 'till my son can get his hands dirty with me!
For me, I've had to learn to accept he won't stay new and pristine forever, he likes to be driven as I'm sure all you Mini owners know. The stone chips in his bonnet i try to fix but I view them as battle scars, as well as the constant washings that are needed to keep road grime off him. I have a few performance mods but look at Cooper as a work that I will never finish, I'll just continue to enjoy my time driving and working on him as this is very thereputic for me. I hope to someday see my son drive him to college and enjoy him as much as i have these last 10 months, and years to come.
P.S. this is a pretty cool forum and I hope I don't sound too dorky.

Hey Henry-8...WELCOME!
Isn't the MINI one of the coolest little cars? I feel the same way about our MINI. We've had our 2006 MC since July 07 and I can't wait for the weekends to take it out for an adventure (my wife drives it during the week).
Good luck with your MINI and many happy adventures!
By the way, do you have any pics of your S?

Welcome to NAM and MINI crazydom Henry!
BTW, what's your color combo? You're lucky to have laid your hands on an '06 R53 -- they really seem to be in demand these days. Lots of folks are resistant to make the jump to the 2nd Generation cars.
Hope you are able to enjoy many long motoring miles in your MINI!

I have chili red w/ blk top, mirrors, and bonnet stripes. next month i plan on painting the hood scoop black like yours Gil-galad, and I'll add the blk aero grills top and middle...I really like that look! Will also replace the bonnet stripes- they got tree sap on em and they stained. By the by, i like both gen 1 and gen 2, but the gen 1 just looks sooo good from the front and the back.
