I ordered my mini (which i am still waiting on) from Mini of Sterling. It's closer for me living not far from the VA/MD line. I spoke with Jeff Wannall for multiple phone calls and test drove with him in person once. He was very, very nice but wasn't so quick with his emails. The day came to order my mini and Jeff was out. I ended up ordering with Ahmed Shaker who also seemed really nice. Didn't get me much off the price but i did get free floor mats. Ahmed was great while i was in the office but he too seems to be lacking some email skills. I've had to send him multiple emails simply asking him to confirm my VIN that i saw on owners lounge. He finally did and so far everything has seemed to go smoothly. If I ever order another Mini, it will probably not be from Mini of Sterling.

they're not good with emails, that's for sure. to me, there's no point having an email address shared with the public if you won't respond to mail sent to you. it's no different than not returning phone calls.

I completely agree! When I'm spending lots of money (even though it IS on an awesome car!), i want someone to tell me what's goin on, answer my calls (and emails!). I guess the dealership guys dont quite see it that way since most of them already have their minis!

I don't think it's that, just the volume of people they deal with. MoS is the largest volume dealer on the East Coast I think....someone mentioned that....not sure if it's true.

I'm with you though....I ordered some wheels from a vendor I know, paid the invoice 10 minutes after it was sent, and haven't heard back since (even though they were in stock). Been pestering him for an ETA>...finally wrote me back today that they'll arrive Wed. It's been two weeks now....they were coming from CA. Shouldn't take nearly three weeks....the lack of response is annoying, but par for the course (he gets me things at cost, so not much room to complain).

Yeah, i'm sure MoS deals with a lot of customers, but still. They should either 1.) be more organized and learn to do what you gotta do in terms of your customers or 2.) hire more people to make them able to do so! lol =D

Any lack of response is annoying! Especially when you're anxiously awaiting something!

PGT- you've made a LOT of posts!

I brought my Mini in for its first year service at MoS. Thye told me it's not the "full service" because I still have 7000 miles to go for that, but they are replacing the oil/filter and wiper blades. I again advised them of the rattles. I am hoping things go better this time. They did have a chart there shoing their satisfaction ratings compaired to 300+ Mini dealers. It showed they were well below average in 2007 (when I was having my own problems with them), but are now steadily climbing above average. Let's hope. Because it doesn't seem like average Mini service is all that great.

On other news, whoever perloined my stapler at work, returned it.

I am awaiting delivery of my PW Clubman S from Annapolis MINI, so I can't say how the service aspect will be. However, Annapolis MINI (formally Tate MINI) was recently sold by Tate (along with the BMW dealership). The staff seems very optimistic that this new management will improve things at the dealership. Since it is located very close to my home, I hope that comes to pass.

So far, the experience has been stellar. My salesman is Will Barfield who has been great to deal with. When I was hemming and hawing about doing the deal, the sales manager moved me into a slot three weeks earlier than originally offered, and it looks like the car will be in a couple of weeks earlier than thought! (It's currently in the middle of the Atlantic!)

Will has been great about my calls so far and this morning he was very happy to add the sports stripes which they put on in New York. So far, so good!

I just bought a new MCS off the lot at MoS. All in all a very good experience. Ahmed was my MA. Along with the Mgr. Tony, I was treated well. No service as of yet, so we'll see how the back end deals with customers.
