07 automatic trans

Hey guys, I bought an '07 automatic mini back in Sept. I have loved the way it runs except lately I have been noticing a jolt between gears, especially between 1 and 2. Is this normal? I understand this seems to be a cold weather problem with others but it still does this after it has warmed up, but just not as severely. Could this have to do with the type trans. fluid used?

When I first start mine up, it sometimes does this, but evens out very quickly. I've heard that as you put on more miles, it becomes even more smooth, but since my 07 Auto is a garaged princess who never sees rain or heavy winds (or sleet or snow. . .) I haven't got past 1300 miles yet!

Took delivery of my 07 MCS auto in Sept. With 6000+ miles I haven't experienced the symptom you describe. This is SoCal, though; so a cold day is 45 degrees in the morning and 60 in the afternoon.

Haven't noticed that either. My MCSa is 3 months old, has just over 3000 miles and has seen some pretty cold weather. Do you have the sport button engaged? I ask because without using that or manual mode, the transmission doesn't even make use of first gear. Also I recognize that in sport mode, shifts in general are relatively rough.

I have about 6400 miles on my 07 MCSa, not getting any real bad jolts from 1st to 2nd. Most of the time the trans starts out in M2, as noted above.

I will notice a jolt if I do a manual shift to M1 as I come up to a light when I'm in DS. It is what I expect and it has been pretty cold here in the lower to high teens for the past few weeks.

It was a delight to drive in the mountains and little light snow on Sunday.

I have not noticed any jarring or jolts. Do you get them if you manually shift with the paddles / stick? Check with and without sport mode when in auto mode. If it still remains, I'd call the dealer just to check. You cannot check the fluid level or fill it on the trans. There is no dipstick.

Thanks! It sounds like I need to move to the tropics. That could solve all kinds of issues Thanks guys!
