New Guy On Deck
Just want to say, "Hi," and introduce myself to the group.
My name is Frosty, and I'm driving my former spouses BRG 2003 Coupe in Ipswich, Massachusetts. She left the States to teach English in Moscow, and left me the car to use and maintain. I love the little guy, and it reminds me of a Morris Minor that a buddy of mine had in 1960. I owned an MGA at one point, and have owned and driven many motorcycles, but this car is a blast!
I looked over the repair invoices in a folder, and I am horrified at the cost of repairs. For instance, a power steering pump - $773., an oil change - $193., 2 brakes - $550., an oxygen sensor - $192.50, etc. Holy cow!
Right now the airbag dash light is on, but I found a repair invoice that replaced the pasenger's side airbag under warranty, one year ago. Has anyone had a similar problem? Neither of the airbags has ever been deployed, and they don't have moving parts, so how can something go wrong with them? Maybe, it's just a sensor, but I'm not inclined to pay anything to get this fixed, again. Any thoughts?

Welcome to NAM. I've always though a past British car owner would fully embrace the zen of owning a Mini.
I've had a 1969 MGC, 1968 MGC-GT, and still have a 1975 MGB that I've owned since new.
If you have the urge, get an 2005-06. All the bugs were worked out.
