Anyone else have this problem?

Hi ...Mini was ordered on Nov. 28, 07....dealer tells me 4 to 6 weeks. Called Mini today and they told me the build date for my car is the third week of January, another week to build and two more weeks on the water...at least another week to distribution point and dealer....this puts me around a minimum of three months until I get my car. A far cry from what the dealer told me....I feel like cancelling the order and starting over... was just wondering what others have experienced thru the ordering process.....Regards, gary

Actually, I had the opposite problem - both Minis I ordered (I lost the first one shortly after I got it in a wreck) came in early. For the first one, the dealer told me about 2 months and it came in 4 weeks later...for the second one, the dealer told me 4-6 weeks and it came in just shy of 4 weeks later. Of course, they also told me that I had to order by November to get another 2007...I don't know what you ordered but maybe things are slowing down because of the 2007/2008 overlap this time of year. I'm sorry you're having this problem, though. I know how hard it is to wait for your Mini to come in.

A couple of related factors: Dealers have allocations. One dealer can get a particular car in a few weeks. Another can get the same car, ordered the same time, in a couple of months because of it's allocations. Allocations are based, at least partially, on the dealer's sales. So, the less orders they place, the longer it will take them to get them.

My car took 7 months to arrive, then the dealer took 2 months to install the accessories so count yourself lucky ; )
