Got One! Ya!!

Hello to everyone! I finally understand why Mini owners are so bedazzled by their Mini. I love mine!! Does anyone run winter tires? Do they make much of a difference? It's going to snow in Minnesota soon.

Minnesota! If you don't you might want to name your new MINI "ISKATE".

Seriously, if you got the winter tire package, your probably ok, I just put on a set of UHP M&S and my friend really laughed at my selection for Colorado. He had just ordered two complete sets of wheels and tires for the BWM fleet at his shop (blizaks, I believe).

I did consider IceBears for down here in Colorado, I've been to Minnesota in the winter, I would put IceBears, Happa's, Blizaks on all 4.

I was born and raised in Minnesota and didn't realize you could live without snow and cold, until I turned 18 and went in the Navy. I now live in central Ga. They don't sell too many snow tires here.

Hi BFrog, I'm only two hours drive south of you. Looks like you're hailing not far from the I-35W non-bridge...

If you have all season tires you can probably get by okay as long as the snow isn't too deep on the road. I think they do a pretty good job in your area getting the streets cleared off quickly. I'm putting snows on my MINI tomorrow, but only because my other tires/wheels are strictly fair weather friends.

Did you get your MINI at Motorwerks? If so, how was the experience?

Welcome to NAM and the MINI obsession!

(Edit: Better think about posting some pics of your MINI soon so we can ogle your ride...the NAM masses get restless quickly...)

Yup, got it at Motorwerks. I bought in the middle of an 80+ hour work week so I was pretty much out of it. I sat in one over lunch and took a little nap. I'm sure they thought I was some homeless guy. They got all the paper work done in an hour so I was happy. Before, I was trying to decide whether I should look for an Orange one or get a new one. Then they called me after my intial visit (nap) and said they got an Orange one on a lease return so I got the Orange one. BTW - Orange is my favorite color so it was an easy decision! I just didn't want a car payment right before Christmas !

Here's a pic, I posted others in my gallery. Hadn't had much time to take any pics and these are from my phone.

Hey there BeganAsAFrog! I was actually in Roseville on business about a month ago! Saw a couple of MINIs traveling between there and the airport

Can't help you with the tires (I still run on the original run-flats) I'd recommend visiting the 'Sota MINIs site for local opinions - http://www.sotaminis.com/

Nice bunch up there! Welcome and enjoy your new ride
