lurker speaks!

Hi, all!

I've been a member for about a month. I got my PW on September 19 from the dealership. I didn't order it from MINI. I realize that it's almost a badge of shame for one to buy off the lot, but this one had almost everything I wanted and it was purty. And I was lonely.

I've put about 4K miles on it so far. Went to East Tenness with a friend to pick up his Porsche Cayman from the dealer, and we took some hugely windy roads back to Nashville. This car is the most fun I've ever had in a vehicle.

Anyway, I am thinking modding it with an ALTA CAI with the scoop and changing out my 16-inch runflats with a 17-inch wheel and tire combo from tire rack.

This is a fun site, and I love seeing other people as nuts about their cars as I am.

No shame in buying one off the lot. Besides, you're already talking about modding it anyway. Congrats!

Welcome to NAM and your new MINI. Good you bought off the lot, that way someone else had an open slot to build their MINI and you found a new passion.

What mods other than the CAI do you have planned? Any good pictures of your road trip getting the P car and the twisties?

No shame in buying from the lot, If I get the passion for a Cabrio, I may purchase via the lot versus ordering, but then I may wait for an 09 Cab.

Of course, I'm not getting rid of my 07 MCS.

No, but we had good intentions. Next time we'll bring a camera.

And even though you did buy off-the-lot, you've put 4,000 miles on it in the first month, so you've re-established any credibility you might have lost!

Seriously, welcome to NAM!

Thanks for the welcome! I've decided to get the Mach V springs along with new wheels and tires. I've already modded the GPS and satellite.

I just haven't told my wife yet that I'm doing that. Just before Christmas. Heh.
