Pepin: MINI Perseverance

I'm happy to introduce myself as the proud first-time owner of a 2002 Electric Blue over White MINI Cooper S, and I'll never own another make or model as long as I live. I had a slight mishap early on w/ a faulty e-brake, but he's right back in the game - looking and performing better than ever. Photos of day one at the dealer, the accident, and resurrection can be seen here. Plans are in the works for a GTT230 fitment, MagnaFlow cat back, springs, some custom suspension bits, bonnets, and powdercoating the wheels. I'm a design engineer for a small company in Camby, so special parts are just a C.A.D. model away from reality. Planning to run the Winged Warrior event next year. Maybe I could persuade a few other MINI owners/clubs to help represent. I'm recently affiliated with MINICCI, and hoping to convince them to make their attendance official. The event benefits Riley Hospital for Children, and raised over $15,000 last year. Take a look, then PM or email me if interested.

Looking forward...

Welcome to NAM nallenOO, from central Ga. I lived in Indy for many years
and have been transported to the deep South where there is no cold and snow. Riley Hospital saved one of my Grandsons back in the early 80s and i try and help them every year, even when it's not very much. Good lock with the "Winged Warrior" event, it's a great cause. Also good luck with your new ride, sounds awsome!!

Thanks!

The move into MINI culture has been very fulfilling! Wonderful car, wonderful people. It's really opened my eyes again to how fun and enjoyable proper motoring should be. And motor I will =) Thanks everybody for the warm welcome. BTW, Winged Warrior is official - just waiting on dates. Clubs/Owners, if you're interested in attending w/ us, PM or email me. Should fall sometime in May. More details to come.

Looking forward...

...absolutely! Thanks the for warm welcome, guys =) I'd like to talk more about the GT Tuning Package, and other mods, so I'll be moving to a new thread for that. Probably North American Motoring > 1st Generation MINIs > Modifications. It's not the length of the list that bothers me, old81, or even the cost - it's the wait time =@ GT Tuning's in the UK, and there are no American distributors! See ya around =D

Looking forward...
