Second, let me ask you this....are you absolutely sure it is wise not to tell friends and family? I mean, seriously, your slow spiral downward (or upward, depending on your starting point) into MINI-waiting-insanity could be serious cause for alarm to those who know you well, but haven't been told the root cause of your temporary insanity. You could well end up being involuntarily admitted by your friends and family to an asylum...and then who'd meet your new baby upon its arrival at the dealership?

when i ordered my MINI i only told 3 people, the rest didn't find out till i showed it to them.

 

This internet shorthand gets to me. The photo sequence above is, like man, the absolute truth. It made me laugh my 7uck1ng @22 off . . . but what does LMFAO mean?

Congrats on your order! I haven't ordered mine yet but I'm going to do the same thing, as hard as it will be to do! It won't be *that* hard to keep it from my friends, but it will be tough not mentioning it to my parents!

 

Thanks to all for such a warm and wierd welcome. I hope that Blimeys' friend ordered the rag-top. For me however what isn't "getting grey" is falling out. The configurator is hitting my wallet every day it seems and I can't find a filter that blocks it.

Wow, I admire your restraint. Are you just smiling a lot? Being extra chipper for no apparent reason? Someone might get suspicious.

I have not told my Mom, because we're going on a road trip shortly after I get the MINI and I want her to be surprised. We'll see. There's a few other people in my life who don't know, but I've been blabbing. I hope that doesn't jinx it.

 

As much fun as it was keeping my mouth shut I don't think I,ll try that stunt again. I picked up my car last night and have just started to share the news. So far the thrill of my first ride in it is better than sharing the secret. For the record my wife was the first (non-NAMer) to find out. I needed her to drive me in to pick it up. She is at least as happy as I am and not at all suprised by it. The rest of my freinds and family will be seeing it soon.
