Almost Future Owner

Hey all,

Getting ready to order my MC this weekend - spent untold hours at work playing with the configurator and hours more poring over the forums on this site. Incredibly helpful!

Have a question - I am going to need a roof rack (family of four) and am debating whether to order it on the build or get one later. There doesn't seem to be a cost advantage in waiting - the aftermarket ones I've seen are all at least as much as MINI's price, and I don't want to try to jerry-rig some random rack to fit...but I'm not sure. Maybe I've missed something. Anyone have any advice / experience with this?

If the price difference is not too great, I would always go with the factory one. It's made for the car, and looks best with it. That being said, if it's a hundred dollars more or something like that, no deal. Congrats on the new MINI, and welcome!

Hi there and Welcome to the world of MINIs... I would also put my 2 cents in for the dealer rack....although there are other very nice ones available. However, if the dealer installs it - you get full warranty which is nice...

We have an OEM on ours - have never had one issue with it..
