I'm new here

I recently bought my 1st Mini. It's a 1970 Mini Minor MK III. Like any one on that buys a car like this I want to make it mine in more than just ownership. My problem is that I don't know alot about cars and specifically Minis. So if any one wants to take me under their wing advice would be appreciated.

First, accept the Zen Attitude of the British Car Owner: Sh*t happens. And sh*t can happen again.

Memorize these jokes:

Why do the British drink warm beer? Because they have Lucas refrigerators.

What happens if you move a Lucas refrigerator? You find a puddle of oil.

What does Lucas stand for: Loose Unsoldered Connections And Splices

Go forth and find the following books:

Original Mini Cooper and Cooper S (Original Series) by John Parnell
Mini Performance Manual (Haynes Performance Manual Series) by Tim Mundy
Mini Cooper Haynes Manual

And then venture forth an purchase "The Italian Job," the original with Michael Caine!

+1 for Gromit801 Good solid advice.

Welcome to NAM with your new Mini, good year and it will be a lot of fun for you to drive, mod (if you want to) and spend great amounts of money.

But I digress, these little cars once right are very solid little runners. I have owned a few Austin products in my dubious past.
