It started out as a search to find a car that had character, got great gas mileage, and was under $30k...

The choice was clear, as I am not a Camry type gal. So, after much discussion (and a few disagreements), my MINI is now being made. I ordered it on June 28 from MINI of Charleston (awesome dealership btw)...and it is due to be completed July 11. This all means, that if the stars align just right...I will have my car before I start teaching in August.

Actually...I've been teaching for 5 years, but I just got a new position teaching Anatomy and am living about 25 miles from my new school--I currently have an F-250 4x4....so I'm looking forward to the reduction in gas purchases along with the coolness that is a MINI!

 

Welcome to NAM Bluturtle!! It won't be long and you'll be diddie boppin about town in your new MINI with a big grin on your face. I would like to know the meaning of "Bluturtle", it's a neat moniker.

 

Its a combo of nicknames...Smurfette was my CB handle back in high school when I dated a redneck and Turtle was my dad's nickname for me...combine them and you have a blue turtle.

 

Welcome Bluturtle. You teaching anatomy in HS or at the college level? I had to dig for the factoid of Smurfs being 'blue', kids are in college, etc..

The Astro Black looks sharp on the MC, I was down at the local dealer picking up some mini-bling today for 'scooter' and noticed a nice AB MC with automatic, the sparkle in that paint is great.

You have a nice complete set of options, you will love the seats. I had an F250 Diesel for a couple of years as my DD and race car towing vehicle. Get ready for an adjustment and smile factor. People will think you have been bad because of the after drive smile.

 

I figure at least I wont get asked "Whats a girl like you doing in THAT truck?" anymore---

I teach high school anatomy/biology. I'm debating about pursuing a PhD to teach at the college level later.

 

Keep us posted with updates on your MINI, go for the PhD, you will find it opens many doors in the teaching world and in others.

You will find that your MINI induces plantar flexion. Recovery is as swift as onset, but not actively persued.
