Desperately seeking MINI

My Chili Pepper Red - Cooper S is currently sitting in Charleston awaiting a truck. Production week 23 and came over on the Emden. MA says next week - I'm dying here!

I'm with you. I'm waiting on a CR S that came over on the Emden. Where are you located? I'm in central Oklahoma. Good luck, let me know when you get it.

Congrats. I remember the feeling of waiting. It was horrible but then the result was well worth the anticipation. Good motoring!

Actually, I was pretty good with the wait until my Mini apparently missed the first scheduled boat and the second - called my MA and asked "what the heck?" Not sure if there was a paperwork problem or what but he left on the Emden two days later. Now that it's hit the USA, I'm really having a problem with the wait. Can you be jonesing w/o every having one in the first place?

Thanks! We've actually re-worked our vacation plans for the rest of the year - no more plans to fly - finding scenic drives to desired locations! Can't wait for the next Dragon!

That sounds about right! The last week is hardest I think. Your MA should get a printout of cars that have been released from the VDC. Once you know that has happened then it's just about the truck getting to your dealership (it may have other stops to make, too). If you can find that release date, then it should be only a few days!!

Mine is going to Oklahoma City - might be on the same trailer. Let us know when yours arrives also.

I will definitely let you know once I hear something. I always thought I would be picking it up at least by today, so today is a little depressing.

At least, maybe they are keeping each other company

Well if it makes any of your feel any better, I'm still in the they have my order status. It's been showing for days that they have my order. Just waiting to be moved up to the production stage. I still have a l-o-n-g wait.

We've also rearranged the summer vacation schedule around this event.

I'm sure you'll post pics so that we in waiting can share in a wee bit of your well deserve excitement.

Heck, I'm telling my three kids we're getting the MINI in-lieu-of a summer vacation! They're not buying it.

Thanks - guess I'll be "stalking" my MA or, at least calling every day! He said next week and now I have a queue of people waiting for a ride.

Have to admit I'm a bit concerned - haven't had a speeding ticket since I was 19. The test drive has reminded me of just how much I used to like motoring - and doing it fast. Been driving high-mpg and utilitarian cars since the 80's...

Any updates on Emden cars? Waiting for one to arrive so I can call my MA and complain again. Hope it comes in this week, I'll be out of town most of next week.

Right here with you all! This is becoming the Emden whiner thread! Our MINI's must be bored outta their skulls just sittin' there at the dock in Charleston for the last 11 days! My MA, as of Friday, had no explanation as to why it had not made it to the VPC yet and did not seem concerned one bit.
Waiting in St. Louis btw...

My MA's reason was the Holiday.... I don't buy it!! The wait at the port does seem pretty unreasonable. I still haven't heard any kind of update from my MA...glad to know I'm not the only one sitting on the dock though.

I do not buy it either, the port was only closed for one day. The 4th. That is verifiable through the Ports website. Somethin' screwy at the Charleston VPC me thinks...

waiting in Houston

Just adding my name to the list of MINI owners whose cars have been stuck at port of Charleston. Talked to my MA today who says my MINI arrived at VDC yesterday 7/9.

My MCS was also aboard the Emden. Haven't heard anything since the end of June. It is to be delivered to Minneapolis and we are flying from Sea/Tac on 7-25 to drive her home. I hope she gets there in time!

Hold the phone!

Just got a call from my MA that my car was loaded on a truck yesterday. Since so many of those on the Emden weren't in VPC until yesterday, I'll wait till tomorrow (MA says it should be at the dealer tomorrow) before I get too excited. But...I'm excited.

Hope everyone gets through VDC ASAP!

Checked with AskMini today and it reports that my Mini is on a truck and headed this way! Call to my MA has yet to be answered.

Looks like the Emden cars are shaking loose. No AskMINI update on mine yet, but I imagine it can't be far behind. Good luck everyone! I'm going to call my MA tomorrow and ask if it's too late to change the upholstery! I've got to give her a little grief for her lack of sympathy.
