with a 2008 Cooper S, I just miss my Mini waaaaay too much

Yeah, that seems to happen. Some cars are qicker, some are more comfy, some have (reportedly) rock solid reliability, but imo a MINI is a weird combination of all these and a good bit more. Hope things work out in your favor...I was gunnin' for an '08 but circumstances intervened and I bumped up my procurement. No complaints from me!!!
