it looks good and it's something I've wanted, but it doesn't appear to be compatible with any kind of front license plate...

Also a problem for me. Can they be spread apart to be two groups of two, with room for a plate in the middle?

Don't tell anybody, but one of my big motivations for hopping state lines when I was looking for an apartment from Missouri to Kansas was to not need a front license plate.

As long as you're making dreams come true, make it a pair of yellow Hellas in the middle wired to the missing bottom toggle (rear fogs that I don't have).
You could install the missing toggle, couldn't you?

When's your next rally for doing installs down here? My wife has an R53 and we met you at MOTD-06 ---- I could see her wanting a set of lights maybe too...

the extra switch deal is tricky but there have been a few that have done it on the R53...do a search and see if you can find the threads...

We will be at the Dragon in 08' and I am sure Helix or Detroit Tuned will be able to do some installs of the brackets down there......

you can mount them in a variety of locations that are mostly limited by how much of the grill and/or snaps you want to remove to allow the brackets to protrude. There are a few ideal locations that have less interference from the snaps and such and on my car I was able to get 4 large Hella 1000's mounted across the front without issues so I am sure you can mount just two and get a plate in the middle....or 4 and hang the plate from the mounts. In that case you would be restricting air flow to the intercooler.

I just have my plate on the passenger side dash right up against the glass...

Or Way or Harrison's (which is only 2 miles from my office...).

I know! I'm going on vacation out west next Saturday. The timing is perfect for an OutMotoring beta test of the light bar and Hellas ----- I could detour through Ohio, have you install the product, and blog the experience with photos.... ....maybe a free install for the detour.....

I'm in one of the states where you have to have a front plate so I have to wait to see how that works out with the rally light bar.

Washington State is the same- my plan is try to find a successful combination of a tow-hook mounted license plate, higher rally light mounting, and a bit of ingenious modification.

It'll be a few months for me to save up for the aero-kit and lights though, so if you figure it out in the meantime, I won't mind

Just to clarify, these are individual brackets that are sold in sets of two (2) that can be mounted in a few select postions in front of the bumper on the Gen 2 MINI. Up to 4 brackets (2 sets) can be mounted across the front. One of the limitations for the locations is the tabs that hold the lower grill to the actual bumper. Because some of the plastic grill must be removed to allow the brackets to protrude it would be wise to leave some of the tabs on the top edge of the grill functioning. Mounting 1 set of brackets will have minimal affect on the grills stability but 4 can be mounted as long as care is taken to place the brackets between the plastic tabs.....

Here is a how to:

Thanks Aaron, I notice that there's a front plate adapter in the works too. Can you share any info on how that fits?

is it possible to maybe include a DIY or picture of which tabs to remove for those who would like to have 4 lights evenly across?

also, maybe a kit to include lights, brakets, wiring, and oem switch?

The adapter will use the bolt from whichever lights used to hold a second bracket that will overlap the bracket a bit and have a bend in it to allow the plate to be mounted/'hung' below the light bracket.

this picture shows the exact position of the slots to allow for 4 lights to be mounted equally spaced. I can take some measurements if that helps but if you look closely you can see where those inner two slots are in relation to the nearest tabs.

The oem switch is proprietary to their wiring harness's and is actually a replacement of part of the dash which runs anywhere from 70-110 which is pretty high...and regarding lights, we have the Hella 500 Driving, 500 Fog, Amber Fog, Hella Black Magic, Piaa 540 and Piaa 520's on the site and all of them come with wiring and switches, etc...so I will most likely not lock into one light for the kit...

Aaron??

Any updates on the Availability of the Quad-Light-Bar for the R56?

My front end is feeling a bit "nekid" and just a little bit dark?

Let me be among the first to get one installed.

Although you have a bar available it does not look like it would work with a standard Cooper that has a front license plate. I emailed about a month or so ago about this to see if you had any other brackets for the R56 Cooper but haven't gotten a response. Any chance you have another bracket that works with the Cooper with with a front license plate? Thanks!
