As someone who has never attended this event before - what can you tell me about the drives? Are there stops? Are there some drives that are better than others?

They usally have stops depending on the lenght of the drive, with the Dragon there is one at the end when you turn around, but that was two years ago when we had the rock slide.

 

Read the descriptions of some of the drives on the MOTD website. Depends on what flavor you want. Long drive with beautiful scenery, Cherohala Skyway. Possible white knuckle ride, the Dragon and Hellbender 28. Waterfalls, got'em on NC 28 South towards Highlands. Long range views, Clingmans Dome. River views, try US19/74 or US 441. Lots of choices.
