Does this price look okay? tire/tpms/mounting
Hello everyone,
I just got a quote from discount tire regarding the following service:
1. 215/45/17 ExtremeContact DW $108 x 4 = $432
2. New TPMS Beru including installation $80 x 4 = $320
3. Mounting/Balancing $16 x 4 = $64
4. Tax 9%, shipping and such?
I'm basically installing summer tire on newly acquired TE37SL 17x7.5 +40 and keep the original 16" for winter use. I'd thought about swapping TPMS but it might not worth it as I would have to do it twice a year?
Ends up with $937 for everything including lifetime mounting and such...
Will this be good deal? or should I rather buy TPMS from separate dealer?
I'd appreciate any kinds of advice

You can buy the TPMS and stems from anyone really. That price is a little high but not robbery. You can install the sensors yourself if they're actually charging labor to do so. Its a 2 min. per wheel install. Not hard at all. Mounting and balancing price is a pretty competitive price so thats good. Tires are priced pretty good as well. considering they're the same as tire rack. You may want to email tire rack and see how much the sensors would be from them. I thought the last time I checked (last year some time) they were around $260-$280 for a set. That would save you some cash overall.

my last wheel and tire change I had discount move tpms and when I got halfway home got a low tire light, got home and I could hear the air coming around TPMS, so moving them can be an issue, they had to replace it cause somehow they buggered it up and it would not seal. No charge to me. Just something to think about. $16 a wheel is what I paid, plus $10 to move each TPMS.
