Aligning head lamp assy to hood

Ok when I first got my MINI the head lights were way out of alignment and not knowing MINI's I thought the large nut assy with screws in the middle were how you aligned, well now that I know that is for aligning the whole assy to the hood opening and OCD setting in I'm going nuts trying to get them perfect.

You know look at, pop the hood loosen the 3 big nuts and bolt with large washer and move then repeat 50 times last night in my 100+ degree garage and it's still not perfect. I got them close and aligned the 2 screws to get beams right but is there some magic trick to get them dead on ?

I haven't had to do this but I suggest you tighten the three bolts just enough that you can still move the assembly. Then lower the bonnet and carefully align the lights. Finally, raise the bonnet and tighten the lights in place.

Let us know if this works.

Problem is those large nuts need adjusted as well, it's like setting 10 axis points at once.

That sounds about right. Keep at it until you get tired, that's what I've done lol.
