FS: Complete set of H/K parts

Hey everyone,

I am selling a complete set of Harman/Kardon parts, which were all recently removed for my huge H/K to DPSM conversion. The set would be ideal "insurance" for someone with the H/K whose MINI has gone out of warranty. The set includes (part numbers included in case you wanted to look them up):
  • Amplifier (65126959010) - retail price ~$760
  • 2 front H/K speakers (65136801096) - retail price ~$76 each ($152 combined)
  • 2 front H/K tweeters (65136801097) - retail price ~$80 each ($160 combined)
  • 2 rear H/K speakers (65136801095) - retail price ~148 each ($296 combined)
As you can see, the estimated total retail price of all this stuff is $1,368 (parts prices obtained from Pelican Parts, who I have been told are comparable to dealership prices). Those are expensive parts! All of the parts were in perfect working order when they were removed from my MINI.

I also have the leftover amplifier mounting bracket/holder and the front, rear & tweeter speaker grills, which I'll include too.

Asking price: $550 plus shipping, or best offer.

Just think - if your amp dies, the purchase has paid for itself already, with spare speakers included.

Obviously I'm selling the parts as I have no use for them any more, plus I need the money to help pay for the crazy DPSM conversion!

At this time, I am not interested in separating the parts - I want to sell them as a set.

EDIT: OK, I'm open to selling the parts separately now - here are my updated asking prices:

Amp: $300 + shipping
Front speakers: $70/pair + shipping
Front tweeters: $70/pair + shipping
Rear speakers: $120/pair + shipping

Speaker grilles (all 6 of them, including tweeter grilles): $60/set + shipping

Here's a picture of the whole set (except the speaker grilles) - there are more pics in my gallery:

Edge--

If you decide to split them up, I could use the rear speakers.

Like the previous posts, if you split them up then I'm interested in the amp.

Harman Kardon Amplifier for 2003 cooper S

Hey Edge,

I would like to get your H/K amplifier, do you still have it? If yes, let me know how much you want through PM.

ultra,

I still have the complete set (including the amp)... but at the moment I am still planning on keeping it as a set. If I choose to separate, StartTday has first option on the amp, as seen above...

Is a H/K upgrade from standard possible?

Do you know how much is involved in changing out the standard CD player and installing your system?

I think the wiring harness is different, so it would probably be pretty involved

Yep, not an easy task. Totally different wiring (which is why my conversion to DPSM is costing so much).

Not an insult, no harm in trying. Chances are I'll be better off separating them and selling them separately, but we'll see!

The headunit does not change. You'll need a new wiring harness (Edge, did you save yours from the uninstall?). Here's an account from someone who has done the retrofit: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=66956

I might be interested in the tweeters and rear speakers if they would work and improve my standard system(maybe I could find a speaker level input amp too)

OK guys, I'm leaning towards separating it all now. I have just sent PMs sent to all of the people who first expressed interest in each part (indy82799, golden_child, StartTday, JPMM & manoo).

Here are my updated asking prices (full disclosure):

Amp: $300 + shipping
Front speakers: $70/pair + shipping
Front tweeters: $70/pair + shipping
Rear speakers: $120/pair + shipping

Speaker grilles (all 6 of them, including tweeter grilles): $60/set + shipping

A very good question. DPSM stands for Digital POWER SoundModul. For more information, look at the info & links in the first post of my thread on the conversion.

OK, maybe a dumb question; When you buy the Mini with a HK system, is the HU different, or does it use the same as the standard unit?

Maybe I'm interested in the whole set.

Not a dumb question - the HU is the same for all US MINI stereos. The HK consists of everything that Edge is selling above.

I haven't actually sold any of the parts yet, but I have a few people interested in some of them. First person to ask for any given part gets first option... but I won't let any of the parts go separately until I have a buyer for each of them.

Of course, at any one moment prior to that, someone could just choose to buy the set, and that would "trump" all of the individual offers.

FPM - your question was perfectly understandable, but you should realize that the wiring harness for the H/K is completely different than for the standard Boost stereo. If you only have the stock (Boost) system, then I would recommend considering the DPSM instead. It's superior to the H/K and designed specifically to upgrade from the Boost.

H.K. amp

I'll take the h.k. amp... $300 is a fair price. are you ready to do the paypal shuffle? I am, it's going on 6 months without tunes!

let me know... since it is so close to the holidays, the exchange does not have to happen immediately, but I would like to secure the deal now if you are in the mood and still have the unit.

thax, bimmerwork

OK guys, here is where it currently stands - these are the people who have expressed interest in each item, in the order they contacted me. The current "winners" are in bold, but none of these sales are "done" yet, so if something falls through, it doesn't hurt to have your name on the list:

Complete set: synigod (lowball $250 offer), eurazn (lowball $475 offer)
Amp: StartTday, ultra, mng, fairline45, howsoonisnow1985, Antranik, bimmerwork
Tweeters: JPMM, manoo
Front Speakers: manoo
Rear Speakers: golden_child, JPMM
Grilles: indy82799 (lowball offer - $50 shipped), PGT

Again, here are the prices I was asking:

Complete set: $550 + shipping
OR
Amp: $300 + shipping
Front speakers: $70/pair + shipping
Front tweeters: $70/pair + shipping
Rear speakers: $120/pair + shipping
Speaker grilles (all 6 of them, including tweeter grilles): $60/set + shipping

Unfortunately, I only have confirmation from StartTday, golden_child & PGT right now. If JPMM and manoo confirm, we can make this happen.

Done. Since indy82799 offered me less than the asking price, you're 1st on the list for them now.

I know where you're headed, diMINImus... you want a newer head unit so you can get the song titles from a device like the DICE. Unfortunately for you though, the Boost, H/K and DPSM all use the same head unit, so mine is not for sale.

Added to the list (based upon PM date).

I've added you to the list, bimmerwork, but with 6 people ahead of you, I'm afraid it isn't likely you'll end up with it unless you decide to "trump" them all by buying the entire set of speakers, grilles & amp. Sorry!
