A while back, we busted out a custom F60 BBK for my boy. Deets HERE. Since then I’ve been prompted to work on one for an R60 owner that would be a bit more OEM in style. What is more OEM than the kit that Mini SHOULD have issued for the R60 in the first place? Sometimes you just have to do the job yourself. That is, make the "GP2X” big brake kit, of course …

Make sure your wheels will clear the front 6-piston units. Dust shields may need trimmed or removed to fit the massive front binders. You can use the GP2 template by matching up the OD’s of the two center bores.
Anybody else feverishly collecting soda cans to make some extra pennies?
Yeah, this was a fun little project. Despite not owning an R60, I've always been bothered that red paint was nearly all that separates the JCW brakes from the base model. Add that this chassis is a bit taller/heavier, and that the JCW wheels are 19", and next thing I know there were 350mm rings in my shopping cart.
Again, I appreciate the compliments. I have some ideas in the pipeline. I just have a few gaps to bridge before I get started.
For anyone thinking about a kit like this, make sure you have around 2.5" between the back of your spokes and the outside rotor face. That means either running spacers or getting some big boy wheels mounted up.
