Turn signal out but bulb verified ok - ideas?
Hi,
I just brought my 2010 Mini R56 to a mechanic to replace a worn drive belt. On the drive home, noticed the front passenger turn signal "fast clicking" - checked outside, no light. (Side turn signal working fine.)
The timing seemed odd since it worked fine before the shop touched it, but I thought maybe it was a blown bulb. Rather than schlep back to the shop, figured I'd replace the bulb myself. Installed new bulb. Still no signal light.
Swapped bulbs between front turn signals. New bulb works fine in driver's side. Still no passenger side signal. So, it's not a blown bulb.
Obviously I can take it back to the mechanic and tell him to fix whatever he broke. But it's a hassle that will take a bunch of time. I'm wondering if there is anything else simple I can try that might fix this myself?
I have trouble seeing the wiring in there clearly (can't take wheel off) but maybe there is a wiring connector for the signal light? Could the connection be loose? Not sure how easy it is to disconnect and reconnect with just my hand groping around up in there. Any other obvious possibilities? Just figured I'd try any low hanging fruit before sinking a couple of hours into going back to this place.
Thanks for any ideas!
