A/C Clutch Coil Shorted
Hi Gang,
I need a little advice here please.
I took my '05 S conv to the dealer for a power steering pump warranty repair. When I was on my way home after the repair after about an hour my a/c went out.
Upon investigation I could see that the wire connecting the a/c clutch to the compressor had no insulation and shorted. I took a power probe and was able to get the clutch to engage but the wire itself is too far gone to carry the current.
I returned the car to the dealer demanding they fix the problem due to their fiddling around in the area. The dealer says that the problem is the clutch shorted the wire internally not the wire grounding to the compressor and they are not responsible.
Is this possible or are they trying to dodge responsibility for the problem?
This seems way too coincidental.
Thanks,
Rich
