Click when pushing clutch pedal

When I get the clutch pedal about 3/4 of the way to the floor there's an audible click from inside the car. It happens at the same point both when engaging and releasing. Any ideas? Is it safe to keep driving? The clutch still engages gears just like normal. Not sure if this is annew sound or something I just noticed. But I don't remember it being there before today.

It reminds me of when you are driving an automatic car and push the brake pedal and hear the click that allows you to move the gear selector.

Based on your comparison to the sound of the brake pedal in an auto it sounds like your clutch safety switch my be failing. Unless it is more of a thunk sound (like you would get from the transmission itself in an auto) instead of a click sound like you would get from a switch in which case I don't know.

The worst that happens if it is the switch is one day it fails and the car either thinks the clutch is always pressed in or it never sees that you are pressing the clutch and won't let you crank the engine.

Might be the clutch pedal switch clicking or the switch clicking the relay?

Probably the clutch pedal switch. I've always had a little click there too, never really bothered me. Shouldn't be a big deal.
