119,000 on Original Clutch, but slightly starting to slip. I'd say maybe another 10k and I'll have to replace it.

A/C - not sure but I think it is original. When I bought the car 2 years ago this May I had my mechanic flush and recharge the A/C after making sure there were no leaks. Made a HUGE difference and A/C has been working great up to current. I suggest if anyone has a slight problem with the A/C they perform that service I did. But obviously make sure there are no leaks.

210K on origional clutch. The AC is origional except I did have to replace the magnetic clutch on the ac compressor. that was just a $100 part and 2 hrs of my time.

153,xxx miles on original clutch and A/C. Clutch is starting to slip so I'm on borrowed time there and the A/C works but isn't up to the job of summers in Phoenix.

I'm sure glad to hear all the many miles on orig clutches. Mine is strong at 82K. The Rav4 on the other had has 240K on orig, but starting to weaken. Oh well.AC still works great on it too.

137,000 miles on original clutch and AC right now on my 2006 Cooper. I use it as a daily driver and has been pretty reliable.

192k on my '05 'S'. Hard shifting when cold...throwout bearing making noise. But still original clutch and A/C!

(of course, A/C hasn't worked in a couple years, but it's still the original parts )

2003 Cooper with 126,000 miles. Still have original AC but the clutch throw-out bearing failed at about 100K. The clutch was still pretty good but replaced it anyway.

What does the throwout sound like. When I start the car (It's hard to explain) I hear a rhythmic tapping / rumble kind of sound. I push the clutch in a it stops? Sound like throwout? It also shifts hard between gears sometimes. I'm not sure if Mini shifting is always a little stiff, but sometimes I gotta use a little arm to get to another gear. It takes a lot more arm to shift than my Hyundai Accent did let's put it that way.

Sounds like the throwout to me, these cars are stiff shifting though.

Awww damn... I had a bad feeling. My logic was "If the clutch being pushed in stopped the sound, then it must be something that is pretty closely connected to the clutch.

:( this is bad news. Any idea how long it can do that before it craps out? I try to not let it idle with the clutch out.

84k miles on my '05 MCSC with (I believe) original clutch and AC. Clutch feels great, but I think my AC compressor is on it's way out. I have a terrible rattle on startup with the AC on that doesn't happen at all if it's off. Luckily, I won't need it for 6 months or so.

130,000 miles on the original clutch, and it's just starting to make some squalling "chewbaca" noises every once in a while. I'm sure it will last a little longer

A/C fail

At 75000 miles my a/c quit blowing cold air. Area shop wanted $1800 to replace the system. I read a tip regarding clutch coil failure being the likely culprit, it was, I purchased the clutch coil on ebay for $95 if my memory is correct. Install at local garage was $160. After a few drives everything worked fine again.
