Just picked up a 2015 hardtop 4-door to replace a Countryman. Is the 4-door hardtop an F56? I am thinking it is NOT, but I am having trouble figuring out what it is, and where I should be looking for info about it on the forums.
@MyroMini: The difference between the Countryman and the F55 is night and day. The F55 feels like you are driving a Mini again. Our CM was an S model, but it never really felt like a Mini. The new one is not an S, but that new engine feels amazing. It handles so much better, sounds better, is quieter inside.
So how do you compare the 2? I'm also looking at the same option when my CM lease is over.
The CM is still a Gen2 Mini, the F55 is a Gen3. All different. I think they're gonna come out with a Gen3 Countryman model, maybe call it the Clubman? The Clubman with the suicide door will be retired, like the Coupe/Roadster.

The Countryman's name will stay the same. There will be a new Clubman coming out which will acutely be a four door but will have a more boxy look compared to the f55. Coupe and Roadster are getting axed, Paceman will stay for approximately 2 more years.

Source: work for MINI.
Thanks. So three 4 door models next year, wow. I assume the Cabrio will update soon too. Coupe, Roadster, and (later) Paceman axed. That leaves Mini with 5 models versus 7 when it's all said and done?

MINI is supposedly going to have a small(er) car called the Minor in the near future as well, they said they'll be downsizing to 5 models by like 2018, but grouped the F55/56 into one car model since they're virtually identical.

Right, last meeting that was mentioned but it won't go into production for awhile. As for the Superleggera Concept... they are still deciding if they want to go forward with it or not.
