Car seats?

I have a 17 month old and he will be spending more time in my car, looking for forward facing car seat recommendations from other mini owners. Currently borrowing a britax marathon convertible from my mom right now and its nice, color is not my cup of tea.

What say you?

I currently have 2 car seats in my MINI. Ones a frontier and ones a roundabout, both forward facing and fit very nicely. My girls love riding in the "mini car".

Not sure what you are asking, but we have used a Graco travel system, a graco convertible car seat, and a graco booster. We have a Britax in the other car, I think it would fit fine in the Mini if the need arose. Britax are the "top of the line". There is quite a bit of room back there with seating for only 2, so I think virtually any child seat will work.

same here, we've used about 3 different types of car seats in my MINI. Currently I have 2 car seats ...one is a Graco, not sure the other brand. All seats seem to fit just fine, no issue installing them.

I went with the Recaro Youngsport. Absolutely awesome car seats. They fit perfectly in the 09 Convertible, and should fit perfectly in the hardtop.

The cheapest price I found recently was at www.sears.com, somewhere around $212, even though MSRP is like $250. Sears also has free shipping too.

UPDATED: This was the link http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SP100A157S624886P?keyword=recaro to the $212 special from www.sears.com I found on Sat 2/20, however it's errors out now. Instead if I just searched, they now have the price at $250.00.

I have one picture of two of them in my 09 Convertible. Shortly after I took these pictures, I discovered that you're supposed to remove the head rests when you use LATCH or what Mini calls ISOFIX becuase the rear tether should press against the seat, and not over the head rest.

Once you're forward facing, most every car seat fits barring both driver and front passenger sitting far back. Since there was no attempt to make an unsatisfactory middle seat, spillage into the middle area isn't a problem and the angle of the seat bottom is reasonable enough to get a safe angle in the ones I have used. While the space between front and back ain't great, its not really much different from any other coupe (and many 4 doors) I've been in either. My older kid loves having pink lights to look at during the ride.

I have a 2 year old and I found my Britax seats are too tall and bulky for the MINI. I got one from Babys R Us that was a little smaller and lower. not sure of the brand.

I guess I'm saying the Britax just didn't fit very well in the car. Britax are great seats.

The roundabout is a good fit until they get 3 or so. By then, boosters seem more convenient with cupholders and whatnot. I like my graco that converts from 5 pt harness down to seat riser only.
