Yep, on your US of A invoice it's called a convertible. When I first saw a MINI Cabrio in the UK in 2004, they were not in the US yet, and the entry level had "Cabrio" where "Cooper" is on US versions. Check out the MINI international or UK sites sometimes, you'll see a 'metric butt-tonne' of MINIs you don't see in the states, or not for years after they're introduced on the other side of the pond. It was the MINI dealer in Italy who sold me my MINI who called it a 'Cabrio', so blame every MINI lover who doesn't live in your backyard...

Maybe the German word for convertible? umwandelbar
but then again
The German for cabriolet is Kabriolett

True MINIAC's use British terminalogy, thus "Cabrio."

Cheers!

Another "under the bonnet" abbreviation I haven't seen yet in this thread:

DSC - Dynamic stability control

----

Coming soon: 06 HB/W MCS, Premium, Cold Weather, DSC, LSD, white bonnet stripes, gray leatherette

Cabrio is short for Cabriolet a French term.

The right and proper English term for the bodystyle you are discussing would be Drophead or Drophead Coupe. The latter is often abbreviated DHC.

I'm a Texan. Thus, it ain't a boot, its a cargo area. A pair of boots is for wearing.

Yet, I'm definitely a new Mini Enthusiast.

I'm not sure if this was asked, but what about the MCa = MINI Cooper Automatic (CVT)? Does a MCCa = MINI Cooper Cabrio Automatic exist?

They have Astro Black Metallic for MCS, but i don't know if that is the same as Astro Black (non-metallic).

Yep, I've got an '06 AB MCS... Can the color abbreviation guide be updated so it doesn't say "Cooper Only" for AB? Thanks,

andrew

There are two JCW kits:

JCW SK = John Cooper Works Sound Kit (for MINI Cooper only)
JCW TK = John Cooper Works Tuning Kit (for MCS and briefly for MC)

Hey there! New to the group! I hope i get this straight
I have: 04 MCS JCW LY B #3 SS+

Got it off Ebay for a song and Lovin every second of it.
Named her Blackeyedsuzie and am looking forward to more mods to add to the already cool mods she came with.

First Question, How does everyone get those cool cartoon mini avitars, and Where do I land one of those cool Color Owner Club Badges that everyone has. Is there even one for Liquid Yellow owners? So far I have seen all the other colors but that one pretty much.
I wanna go fast.......

Good Morning! :)

Hey folks,

I picked up my DS/B MCS almost a week ago... 6 hours left until it's been a full seven days, and I absolutely love it.

I've been surfing the boards for a while now, and have been reading quite a bit... it's amazing how large of a family you are.

I bought my first mod early this week... the side plate from GOMINIGO. The dealer unfortunately drilled holes in my front bumper, and so I bought a couple of bumperplugs to fill them in. Since it's raining cats and dogs out now, I'll have to put them in tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to it!

I've been a frequent posted on MINI2, as well as belonging to the Ocean State MINI club, and hope to see you at a MINI meet soon!

I bought the RG MCS and my dealer told me that the RG is the same color as an Aston Martin grey. Has anyone else heard this?

And looking at the AM color and trim book in outr library, it doesn't appear to be the truth. After all, why, pray tell, would BMW use a Ford color?

Well Ford for at least the next few weeks.

Most likely "Motoring Advisor" (or, the salesperson at the dealership).
In the same vein, "SA" = "Service Advisor."
