I was wondering what size rotors my 2007 Cooper sidewalk convertible would need?

I was also wondering if anyone else goes through brakes abnormally fast in their mini? Mine has 70k miles and this will be his 4th set! I became ridiculously concious of my braking after I had to get a new set at 15k, but my over-caution doesn't seem to help obviously.

Buy something other than OEM pads and rotors. The OEM stuff seems very soft. Look through the MANY MANY postigs here on that specific subject -- lotsa good readiing.

not exactly sure what you are asking here but

front rotor diameter for a GEN1 {07 rag top is still GEN1} is 276mm; rear 259mm

but I doubt that info alone gets you far as the bolt pattern matters. Just going to a good autoparts should get you basic rotors and any of many parts suppliers gets you to some of the fancy ones. MiniMania, MOSS . . . when you look at costs do recall that rotors are HEAVY and expect a nice shipping charge.

IMHO yes you seem to eat brakes. At 90k I'd changed the rotors on the 02S once with the second pad change about 65k and they looked good when we sold the car. I've original rotors on the 07S with about 25k showing approx 50% pad left in the front (EBC green replaced OEM at about 5K) and the rotors show nothing significant.

When I did change the 02 (GEN1) rotors I used simple Brembo ones. Same as OEM - ventilated but no slots or drilling.
