Description:

Looking to part with my beloved Mini Cooper S. Last year for the supercharged R53. Space blue metallic with silver roof and hood stripe, blue/black interior. The car is in good condition, but does need some TLC as any 15 year old car would. The oil and transmission fluid were changed last year, I installed new hatch and hood struts, new plugs/wires/coil, and a new battery. The leather seats have some wear, but are in good condition overall. It has heated seats (both work), front/rear fog lights, stability control (DSC), xenon headlights, and moonroof. I have owned the car for a year and half. It was garaged all of last winter on a battery tender.

The good:

  • No rust!
  • Dinan air intake
  • Dinan strut tower brace
  • Dinan pulley
  • JCW (John Cooper Works) exhaust (sounds great!)
  • Factory accessory gauges (boost and volts)
  • Factory aero package
  • Factory LSD (limited slip differential)!
  • Harman Kardon sound
The bad:
  • Front motor mount needs to be replaced. I have the parts (upper and lower), but have not had the time to do it.
  • The wheels need to be refinished. I was quoted $125/wheel to get them refinished with silver paint. You can go that way or find some used Mini S-Lites for a few hundred dollars.
  • The front aero spoiler has a lot of chips. I have touch up paint, but haven’t had time to address it.
  • Tires will probably have to be replaced in the near future. One of the rear struts was loose when I bought it (which has been fixed) and caused some scalloping on the tires.
I also have a power steering line kit that I was going to install proactively, but there’s nothing wrong with the power steering now. Why am I selling it? We are building a cabin up north and going back and forth a lot with two kids, bikes, and a dog. I don't have time to work on it let alone drive it much. I would really like this car to go to a good home that will appreciate it as it’s a very unique Mini. Contact me with any questions.
