Hello everyone, it's come time for me to put my R56 up for sale. As the title states it's a 2011, N18 motor with 131k miles on the clock. It's been rock solid for me, only problem it's ever given me was a dead coil pack, so I replaced all of them with new OEM units and my FRM died while at a shop so I replaced that with a new FRM3 from ECS Tuning. I bought the car from the original owner who special ordered it from Mini directly, immediately after purchase I took it into Mini for an inspection and they found a seeping front main, leaking water pump and the oil pressure control solenoid all needed to be replaced, this work was approved and repaired under the extended warranty the car had at the time. I did modify the car and it did see a couple of track days, but it has always been well cared for and properly maintained, and has since been put back to stock with the only remaining mods being the following:
- H&R 27mm Front Sway Bar
- NM Eng 22mm Rear Sway Bar
- Powerflex Front Control Arm Bushings
- Stage 2 Manic Tune but currently set to stock map
- Front and Rear facing dash cam
- Hidden Hitch with Mini Draw Bag for ball
- Trailer wiring kit
It runs and drives excellent, only reason I'm selling is because I've moved up to a newer model. This one includes the Sports, Cold Weather, Premium packages and I added OEM HID's.
The Good:
- Over the past 75k miles I've averaged 30mpg, and I drive 90 miles a day to work and half of those miles are curvy twisty back roads.
- Oil changes, tire rotations, balance, alignment done every 5k miles
- Oil filter done every 10k
- EBC Red front brakes with Carbotech 1521 Rears
- Practically new Eagle F1 Asymmetric All Seasons
- Air filter replaced with K&N drop in replacement 1k miles ago, Cabin filter replaced at same time
- I replaced the downpipe gasket at 127k due to an exhaust leak, did the turbo oil feed and return lines while I was in there
- Trans fluid changed to Redline MTL at 109k miles
- Flushed brake system with RBF 600 at 103k miles, put in new OEM clutch slave at same time since the system was being flushed
- Ignition coils replaced with OEM at 103k. Also did plugs at the same time, NGK's more than likely.
The Bad:
- It's 10 years old, there are some small dents along the passenger side
- Drivers side seat has cracks on the seat cushion outer bolster, been like this for some time now and hasn't gotten any worse - see photo.
- The car will randomly throw a bulb warning and the codes that are pulled are taillight bulb out warnings but all lights function fine. Even the Mini dealer couldn't figure out why it was doing it, been doing it since I've owned it and the lights still work perfectly fine.
- Previous owner used a hatch mounted bike carrier, they told me when I bought the car that's what dented the trunk.
