Bah! I got tired of waiting for stocked-out H&R springs!

So I made my own. :nod:

Compared with the afore-mentioned springs, they're a teensy bit higher, and a teensy bit softer. I think they achieve a pretty nice balance of ride vs. the good looks and handling of a lowered car.

"Mach V Technic" is our name for our own products specially made for the Mini. Next up is R56 sway bars, and then other parts, too.

What's a teensy bit higher? From the looks I'd guess maybe 0.25"-0.5" taller? is that about right or is it much closer to the HR springs than that?

On your website you state "Sport suspension shocks recommended"; do you mean the factory sport suspension shocks, or aftermarket? Also, what is the comparison of the ride, handling, and height compared to the stock sport suspension option. Also, how long do you expect to sell them at the sale price?

I would love to get these, but here at school I don't have the tools to do this myself, so buying these plus paying to have them installed will be a pretty penny.

H&R drop it about 1.4" (depends on your options / weight of your car).

I'm interested in these but I'd like to know the difference between a stock suspension on a MCS and a Sport Suspension with them. More info on these would be good.

They're a variable-rate design, so there's no single rate I can quote you.

Factory.

Ride slightly firmer. Height about 1.25" lower. Handling better given the lower center of gravity and firmer spring rate.

What's a rough estimate on what it would cost to have these springs installed, and do you need to change the alignment after installation? Thanks

Figure around four hours of labor to install a set of springs -- your local rates may vary. And yes, you should always have the alignment checked and adjusted as needed after changing springs.

Boy, they look terrific. Not that much higher than the H&R's I have installed. Noticable somewaht in the rear, but not by much. Front looks the same... if not lower, actually. Might just be the angle you're at taking the pic. I'll have to look closer at mine.

Being a softer spring rate... any issues with bottoming up front, more than say a stiffer Eibach or H&R. You get a hair more suspension travel, but with a softer spring, it'll compress easier and faster, correct? Or mabe the progressive wind of the spring stiffens up near the end of the suspension travel to compensate?

Overall, another great product coming from Mach V. Very impressive.

What type of warranty do these bad boys come with? $199 is a really good price!

So when you say sport suspension shocks recommended, you say that cause those shocks are stiffer, which you want cause the springs lower the car, correct? If so, then they'd be perfect for my JCW shocks, as they are stiffer than the sport suspension ones.

So since they're progressive, what's the range of the spring rate from softest to stiffest??(ex. 195 to 300 lbs)

That's right. Firmer and lower springs generally work best with firmer shocks.

Agreed, although we don't yet have first-hand experience with that combo.

No. In fact, with the H&Rs I was having some (slight) tire rubbing in the back on really aggressive cornering. With these I can't seem to get them to rub.

That's sort of complicated, and I don't want to open up a can of worms by quoting rates. It's sort of like car stereo amplifier wattage ratings, or dyno horsepower ratings -- a simple number can sometimes be misleading, and comparisons between two different companies may not lead to an accurate result.
