hood doesn't close completely

just took delivery last week of 2006 MC. i drop the hood from the reccomended 1 foot height, and only one of the two latches fully engages.

is everyone else's hood latching correctly? or do i have to push down over both latch areas to get it to competely latch down every time? maybe over time the hood supports will wear and allow the hood to drop faster and increase the likelihood of engagement??

TIA

I also have a 2006. My bonnet does the same thing. I have to slam the bonnet shut. I am going to mention it to the SA when I bring it in for the 1000 oil change, which will be soon.

hood

my 2005 does the same, I have to push at top of both headlights during closing to make it latch on both sides, else it latches only on the passenger side if dropped from a 1 foot level..

The latches can be easily adjusted it you want to experiment or you can wait till you take it in for service .

I have an '05... no problem with the bonnnet closing BUT I did catch the following: the right side (co-pilot side) washer hose got pinched between the sheet metal of the bonnet and the body sheet metal. Make sure it's routed correctly to allow the bonnet to close w/o pinching the black hose. You'll see it if it happens to your MINI.

I've been slamming it down

The one-foot drop doesn't work for me either.

I usually just push down on the headlights gently while I close.
