Fuel rail pressure sensor....Don't buy a rail!

After sitting my car had two issues. One was the top won't go down. I posted that earlier. Second was a "restricted performance" message. This turned out to be the fuel rail pressure sensor. Both BMW/Mini and the local independent shop said the sensor isn't available alone, I have to buy a rail. So I pulled the intake, removed the sensor, got the part # off it, ordered it from the BMW desk instead of the Mini desk and it was there the next day. Put a hundred miles on her now, no issues.

I like mini clubman's Dec 29, 2018 05:43 AM

Excellent information, thanks

Could you tell us what the part number was?

Do a google search for part #6PH2001.2 or 6PH20012. That will be the fuel rail pressure sensor. MINI doesn't list it as a separate part because the service recommendation is to replace the entire rail and to never replace just the sensor. But it it does just screw right out; it's just a little PITA to get to (it's right under the intake manifold, which needs to be removed).

Thanks, Sean. I found a few yesterday and probably should have followed up on my own reply when I did. But good to have confirmation.
They can be found at ECS, Pelican, FCP, and even Amazon if you trust the vendors there. Listed under both BMW and Mini.
I had more luck with part number 13537537319 but both will work. Listed below.

Part No.:
6PH2001.2
6PH20012
13537537319
13-53-7-537-319
